One of my favorite things I like to do is travel and stay in hotels.
I appreciate the idea of getting away from reality and relinquishing all responsibilities.
It is nice to know that at a hotel, there are people who will do just about anything you ask. Of course, these requests come at a price, however that is okay. A requirement I consistently request when I am looking for a hotel to stay in is that the room has control of the heating and cooling. If there is not a thermostat in the room, I will not stay there. I am fortunate to be with someone who enjoys sleeping in a cold room and with several fans. I can not sleep well in a hot room that is too quiet. I like the idea of being able to control the temperature in the hotel room. I recently stayed in a hotel where there was access to the thermostat, however the temperature only went down to 80 degrees. In order to sleep comfortably, I need to be in a room that is at least 78 degrees. With one simple iphone call, I was able to have the front desk adjust the temperature in our hotel to 68 degrees. I did not like that they had a block on the thermostat in this hotel room, although I understood. The front desk told us that people would come from the Northern states where it was honestly cold and adjust the thermostat to fit their comfort zone; People had been setting the thermostat at 60 degrees and frosty the Heating plus A/C system for several years before the hotel decided to put the lock on the thermostat.
