If there is a problem, your HVAC serviceman will inform you, and he will offer to either fix it with the heating and cooling equipment he has in his work truck, or he will recommend what parts the HVAC unit needs and where the best heating and cooling store is to purchase the part. If you choose to only schedule a quarterly or annual HVAC maintenance checkup, I would highly recommend learning how to check the air filter and coolant in your central air conditioner yourself to ensure there is no build up or problems. You can learn how to change the air filter in your central air conditioner or furnace by going to a heating and cooling business and asking for an HVAc technician to show you and explain it to you, or you could go online where there are several different HVAC websites with videos that show you how you can check and change your air conditioner or furnace air filters. I said all this to say, HVAC maintenance is very important.
