I never really learn something unless I end up having to do it for myself.
I am always this way.
You cannot tell me something and then have me remember it right away. I need to physically do something in order for me to remember it well. When we had a new HVAC system put in not too long ago, the HVAC technician was telling me what I need to do. He showed me how to check the air filter. He did not have me do it myself though. He just showed me how to do it. OF course when my system broke down I did not really know what to do. I couldn’t remember where to even check the air filter. I had to call my HVAC company again to have them walk me through it. I followed all of the directions and I still managed to get it wrong. They told me not to worry. They could be right out to help me look into the problem. They looked at the air filter and of course it was clogged. I had known that If I knew how to check the air filter. I could have saved a ton on this simple fix too. I could have easily just done it myself. The more I thought about it though, I wasn’t sure I could have. I did not even know how to check the filter. There was no way I could figure out how to change the filter. I had an awesome technician who was able to walk me through everything. He showed me how to do everything and then he made me do it myself. I loved this because next time I knew I would be well prepared.
