She couldn’t live separate from the AC system & she couldn’t find more cash to cover her portion of the HVAC appointment
Periodically it’s best to teach your kids by letting them make big mistakes, you can try to keep them safe & control their lives, however it does no good. They’re just going to resent you. In order to let my children learn their lessons, I’ll keep my mouth shut while they experience life on their own. I’ll be here when they come crawling back. This was the case recently when my kid insisted that she wanted to transport out of our condo to strike out on her own. I could have stopped her, however instead I let her walk right out the door. I knew that she wouldn’t be gone long, with the outdoor air temperature we’ve been experiencing. My kid has never had to pay bills on her own & I knew she would have no idea what she was in for when the energy bill came around each month. She’s easily never seen the energy expense from running an AC unit afternoon in & afternoon out, when she moved out, I bet that she would last one month before her utility woes drove her back home. I was wrong; it only took two weeks before she stopped paying her own energy expenses & was back in the safety of our central AC system. Apparently, within one week of moving into her modern digs, the AC unit broke down, and between the cost of an HVAC emergency repair & her biweekly utility bills, my kid was broke. She couldn’t live separate from the AC system & she couldn’t find more cash to cover her portion of the HVAC appointment. She was knocking on our door within afternoons of leaving.
