Periodically I question the decisions that I’ve made. I often recognize something is going to be a great idea & I’m disappointed later on. It seems like I’m typically eating my words & taking back the strong opinions that I had. Recently, this was the case when I had to confess that our old dial control unit was a better choice than this brand modern pricey smart control unit. I never would have thought not there would be a drawback to upgrading our air temperature control system. From everything that I had heard, smart control units were the wave of the future. People had been shouting from the rooftops about their energy savings, HVAC system repair, & automatic temperature control programming. I was gleeful to be a part of the next wave of HVAC technology. It took several months for me to convince my hubby that it was a great idea to replace our heating & cooling system. After my buddy and I finally bought the brand modern smart control unit I was ready to gloat about our reduced energy costs & improved indoor air quality. Instead, I found myself shooting myself in the foot. It turns out, smart control units can be very good if you are not addicted to your iPhone. Unluckyly, my hubby is anything but. Since my buddy and I installed the smart control unit I recognize her iPhone has seen more of him than I have. He’s typically checking on our indoor air quality control & energy expenditure. In the middle of conversations she will check up on the air-conditioning settings & forced air boiler repair schedule. She knows if I transport the control unit up or down 1 degree. This was a awful idea.
